Development of materials for schools

Categories: Sheppey News

The CC2150 project is working with Groundwork to develop climate change materials for East Church Primary School and other schools in the Isle of Sheppey. A preliminary outline has been shared with the head teacher, focusing on numeracy and literacy activities around future climate and lifestyles  on the Isle of Sheppey.

The suggested numeracy activities would  involve plotting charts and calculating percentages for rainfall and temperature, while the suggested literacy activities would involve writing an imaginary letter from a future grandchild, or describing a day in the life of a school child in 2070.  We are also researching a possible board game to bring alive future climate impacts and their implications for the life of the community.
