We have created several maps of the Romney Marsh, to help you explore issues about the future of the area.

The interactive map is accessible through the tab below or the button on the right side of all the pages. It allows you to zoom in to your area and choose which data to show on the map (including Ordnance Survey data, flood risk zones, habitats, protected areas, parish boundaries and tourist attractions).

If you have trouble viewing the interactive map, you may need to download a plug-in for your browser. Alternatively, you can view the simpler topic maps shown below:

  • Base map (Ordnance survey data)
  • Flood risk map (based on Environment Agency data as at April 2013)
  • Tourism map (showing current tourist activities, habitats and protected zones)

These maps can also be downloaded in pdf format, using the tabs below.

This map presents standard Ordnance Survey information for the area.

The blue ‘flood risk zones’ on this map shows current flood risks from sea and river flooding AS IF THERE WERE NO FLOOD DEFENCES.

The blue ‘flood risk zones’ on the interactive map shows current flood risks from sea and river flooding AS IF THERE WERE NO FLOOD DEFENCES.  The data has been provided by the Environment Agency as at April 2013. In practice, there are flood defences in many areas, so the current flood risk for defended areas is much lower than shown on the map. For more information on how to prepare for flooding, and to find out whether you are at risk of flooding, please visit the Environment Agency web site at: http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods/default.aspx
