Climate Local Kent

Climate Local is a Local Government Association initiative to drive, inspire and support council action on a changing climate. The initiative supports councils’ efforts both to reduce carbon emissions and also to improve their resilience to the affects of our changing climate and extreme weather. Climate Local will help councils across the country to capture the opportunities and benefits for businesses and residents of action on climate change.  Climate Local Kent was launched at the Kent Environment Strategy Conference in September 2012.

In signing the commitment, Kent Forum have committed to setting targets and commitments (PDF, 2Mb), being open and accountable in publishing our actions and progress, sharing learning with others and regularly reviewing and refreshing our plans.  A set of targets for Climate Local Kent have been identified which support the delivery of the Kent Environment Strategy, reflecting our priorities for the county.
